Kelly Young

I’ve been serving Ida Grove since: I first began working for the city part-time at the Library in 2013, then in 2018 I went to work full time at City Hall as the Deputy Clerk.

Why I Serve: I think Ida Grove is a wonderful community and I value the safe, small town atmosphere. I serve because I want to ensure Ida Grove maintains it’s strong character, sense of community and values for many years to come. 

I Love Ida Grove: As a child, I grew up visiting family in Ida Grove. I have so many amazing childhood memories of the town, the people, and my personal favorite – the rocket at Moorehead Park. As an adult, I married a native of nearby Battle Creek and together we have raised our family in the local community.

My Passions: Family is my first passion in life. I also thoroughly enjoy home improvement and remodeling projects, reading, shopping (especially at Hobby Lobby) and the University of Iowa – Go Hawkeyes! 

My Dream for Ida Grove: I would like to see more businesses and families come to town to help the community continue to thrive and grow.
