Movie Night
Join us at the Ida Grove Library for a free movie night! In preparation for the 2017 Great American Eclipse on August 21st, the library will be showing the movie Apollo 13 on Thursday, August 17th beginning at 5:30pm. All ages are welcome to attend this special event. Popcorn will be provided, feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages in a sealed container. Note: Movie is rated PG and approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes in length.

Eclipse 2017 Viewing Party
The Ida Grove Library has joined more than 1,000 libraries across the country to participate in the celestial event of the century, the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse. During this national event, the shadow of the moon will sweep across the United States in a narrow band from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean in a spectacle that hasn't occurred in decades. 4th Annual Doggie Dip Ida Grove Outdoor Pool Dogs must be current on ALL vaccinations and registered for this event. Registration forms are available at the outdoor pool & the IGRC and will also be available the day of the event. Annual Community Barbecue
The Ida Grove Fire Department will be hosting their Annual Community Barbecue Fundraiser on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. A meal including burgers, beans, chips and drink will be available for a free will donation, as well as free truck rides for the children and a jaws of life demonstration at 5:30 and 6:30. Come out and support your local Fire Department!

The City of Ida Grove will be holding a Steering Committee meeting for the City's Comprehensive Plan with assistance from Siouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Council (SIMPCO). The meeting will be held on Monday October 2nd at 5pm in the City Council Chambers. The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to provide a current inventory of community resources and issues, and a thoughtful statement of the community’s vision and goals for the future. The City of Ida Grove is interviewing engineering firms to represent the city on large public works projects. The interviews for the firms will run from 11:00 am to 11:45am on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at the City Council Chambers in City Hall, 403 3rd Street. Bring your families and meet at Godbersen park at 5:30 PM for a small costume contest and parade. After the parade a treat bag filled with goodies from Ida Grove businesses and glow necklaces will be available to make our kids more visible while out after dark. Trick or treating will begin following the parade and last until 8:00 PM. If you will be handing out candy from your home please remember to turn on an outdoor light

6th Annual Fun Run/Walk Prediction "Race" Thanksgiving Morning 8:30 AM (registration begins at 7:45 AM) The fun/walk will be held on the Pleasant Valley Trail (in town only), starting and ending at the Rec Center. The winner of the fastest time and the winner of the closest prediction will each receive a dozen decorated Thanksgiving cookies. $5 of each registration will be donated to the Ida County Food Pantry and $5 will go to the Rec Center.

Ida Grove Source Water Community Kick-Off
Conservation Districts of Iowa has partnered with the DNR to provide communities access to a Source Water Community Facilitator.
