Everyone loves magic, right? Join us for a special Reading Safari Magic Show with Magician Jeff Quinn. Reading Safari is a 40-45 minute show featuring animal-themed tricks; lots of audience participation, clean humor and lots of fun. No live animals are used during the show, but it's still a WILD time for everyone!

Plan to participate in this year's Heritage Days program at the library! Mrs. Bogue will provide a special summer Storytime on Thursday, June 23rd at 10:30 to kick off our stuffed animal sleepover. Attend story time with your furry (stuffed) friends, then check them into the library for their overnight stay with Angie, Lisa and Jane. We have plenty of fun adventures in store! Join us for a special Heritage Days program in partnership with the Ida Grove Rec Center! From 1-4pm, we will have the Iowa PBS STEM Trailer set up on the grassy area between the library and rec center! Be sure to stop out and see what neat activities are available.

Puppets, Magic, Stories...what else can a good camper ask for? Join us to see another brand new performer, Brent Allen, with his special Camp Iwannareedabuk. This is sure to be an afternoon of hilarious puppets, stories and general silliness. Not a bad way to spend some time in your library!

Movie Day @ Camp
Stop on by for a movie and camp snacks! Our movie will be camp themed and appropriate for most ages, generally rated G or PG. We do ask that parents or a responsible caregiver attend with younger children. Movie will be approximately 90 minutes in length.

Come out and celebrate summer with a pool party summer picnic! We'll be at the Recreation Center's Outdoor pool. Picnic lunches will be provided for children and families signed up for the summer program. Open Swim will be from 10:30 am to noon for registered children and their parents/caregivers/guardians. Following open swim, the library will provide picnic lunches along with certificates and incentives for completing the summer reading program.

The Ida Grove Library is pleased to announce that Iowa Author Jerry Harrington will be visiting the library for a special program on Ida Grove native Harold Hughes. Harrington the author of Thunder from the Prairie: The Life of Harold Hughes, will visit the Ida Grove Public Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7. A native of Ida Grove, Harold Hughes overcame severe alcoholism to become governor of Iowa from 1963 to 1968 and Iowa’s US senator from 1969…
