From 1943-1946, Iowa housed approximately 25,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war. Commission Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (except Holidays) beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meetings take place in the Council Chambers at Ida Grove City Hall. The public is invited and encouraged to attend Commission Meetings and participate in their local Government. Any citizen can address the Commission in reference to any item on the agenda, or during the “Appearances” portion of the meeting. Community input, insight and ideas are helpful to the Commission as they work together…

Stop by the library for an evening with author Cullen Vane. Vane will provide a short presentation on his writings and experience as a missionary in Haiti, followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Books will be available for sale after the presentation.
