Water and Sewer

The City of Ida Grove manages water and sewer utilities. When paying your water/sewer/garbage bill, the bills are delivered to you the first of every month. If you do not receive a bill, please call the city at 712-364-2428 and a duplicate bill will be sent to you.  The City is not responsible for failure to receive a bill. The bill is payable by the close of business on or before the 15th of each month. If the bill is not paid by the due date, a ten percent delinquent charge is added to the bill. It is then payable by the 30th of the month or the water may be disconnected. A $45.00 disconnect fee and a $45.00 reconnect fee during regular hours, and $95.00 reconnect fee during holidays, weekends and after 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, is added to the current bill and all need to be paid for the water to be restored.

Water Rates
1st 2000 gallons $21.42 (minimum bill)

2,001-9,999 gallons $3.79 per 1,000 gallons

10,000 – 99,999 gallons $3.44 per 1,000 gallons

100,000+ gallons $2.71 per 1,000 gallons

Sewer Rates
1st 2000 gallons $27.81 (minimum bill)
2,001+ gallons $8.34 per 1,000 gallons

A $75.00 water deposit is required for all tenants of rental property. If you move or purchase a home, the deposit is refunded to you.

Ida County Sanitation has garbage and recyclable pickup on Monday, Thursday and Friday in the residential district. You will need to contact City Hall to find out what day they will pick up in your area. The fee is $18.25 a month and is included on the water bill. The commercial and industrial pickup is handled by Ida County Sanitation and billed by them. Recycling information and bins are available at City Hall.
