At Home in the Heartland: Forgotten Stories of How Iowan’s got to be Us
TRACES will bring its mobile exhibit “At Home in the Heartland: Forgotten Stories of How Iowans Got to be ‘Us’” to the Ida Grove Library on Sunday, October 2nd 2016. Paws to Read!
Encourage a love of reading - stop by to check out Paws to Read! Paws to Read is a special after school library program welcoming Loger Comfort/Therapy Dogs. Children will have an opportunity to strengthen reading and comprehension skills while reading, or listening, to a story. All are welcome to attend and reading times will be divided to accommodate all children. We hope to see you there!

Local Author Kim Claussen set to visit the library
Local author Kim Claussen is set to visit the library on April 8, 2017 from 10am to 12pm. Join us for a special program on Kim's first book "Till Tomorrow". There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer session and book signing. Books will be available for sale during the program for $16.05 (including tax). Light refreshments will be served, so make sure to mark your calendars and join us on April 8th!

Join us at the Ida Grove Library for a free movie night! In preparation for the 2017 Great American Eclipse on August 21st, the library will be showing the movie Apollo 13 on Thursday, August 17th beginning at 5:30pm. All ages are welcome to attend this special event. Popcorn will be provided, feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages in a sealed container. Note: Movie is rated PG and approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes in length.

Eclipse 2017 Viewing Party
The Ida Grove Library has joined more than 1,000 libraries across the country to participate in the celestial event of the century, the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse. During this national event, the shadow of the moon will sweep across the United States in a narrow band from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean in a spectacle that hasn't occurred in decades.
