2016 Duck Race
Don't forget to buy your ducks! The Heritage Days Committee in partnership with Ida Grove Community Partners is sponsoring the annual Duck Race during Heritage Days. The race will be held Saturday, June 25th at 2:30 in the creek at City Park. Prices for ducks are as follows: Prizes include (2) 1/2 hog, $500.00 in Chamber Bucks, a men’s and women’s watch and much, much more. If if you have any questions please let me know! Thanks!

Siren Test
Ida County tests the outdoor warning sirens in Ida Grove the first Monday of each month at noon and as part of the Iowa Statewide Tornado drill, usually in March or April. When we activate the sirens for sever weather, it is only for a Tornado Warning. The sirens by default operate for 2 minutes. We would then restart them 3 minutes after that to run for another 2 minutes, and so on until the warning has expired. …

2nd Annual Youth Triathlon! This is for ages 9-16. You can participate as a team or as an individual. You will start by swimming laps at the outdoor pool, followed by riding your bike on the trail, up hamburger hill, and finish with running around the track at the High School. The King Theatre Renovation Board, along with architect Daric O'Neal, will present to the community on Tuesday, February 7th from 6 - 8 pm on the progress of the King Theatre Project. Special City Council Meeting
Our Ida Grove City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday, March 2nd, at 5:00 pm to discuss the anticipated vacancy of the seat representing Ward I. Jeff Buehler, who currently holds the Ward I spot, is moving outside the city limits. The appointment will run through the end of the 2017 calendar year with this seat up for general election this November.

Local Author Kim Claussen set to visit the library
Local author Kim Claussen is set to visit the library on April 8, 2017 from 10am to 12pm. Join us for a special program on Kim's first book "Till Tomorrow". There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer session and book signing. Books will be available for sale during the program for $16.05 (including tax). Light refreshments will be served, so make sure to mark your calendars and join us on April 8th!
