  • Ida Grove’s hometown newspaper is the Ida County Courier.

    Started in 1975, the Ida County Courier is the lead publication of three main print offerings with the Holstein Advance and The Reminder as well as being part of the Green Saver Association. The Green Saver is a supplemental shopper that is inserted into 11 weekly newspapers across northwest Iowa, boosting advertising circulation by 20,100. Green Saver newspapers include: Pocahontas Record Democrat, Storm Lake Times, The Sac Sun – Sac City, Odebolt Chronicle, Ida County Courier, Lake View Resort, Mapleton Press, Schaller Herald, Schleswig Leader, The B.V. County Journal – Newell and the Vail Observer.

    Merging with the Ida County Pioneer Record in 1995, the Ida County Courier covers all of Ida County as well as branching out in surrounding communities.

    It is published every Wednesday with a circulation of over 1,900 newspapers and is available to early bird subscribers at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday.

    We cover news, sports, obits, and events from the communities of Arthur, Battle Creek, Galva, Holstein, Ida Grove, and Odebolt.  We have many subscribers in Ida County and other areas of the state, as well as out of state.

    The Reminder is published every Tuesday and is distributed free to 5,800 homes in our area. It isn’t inserted with any other paper. It covers Ida County and the surrounding area completely – going to every home in Ida Grove, Battle Creek, Arthur, Odebolt, Galva, Holstein, Cushing, Danbury, Schleswig and Kiron. The Reminder has been in Ida Grove for over 50 years and is well read in the area.
