Join us at the Ida Grove Library for a free movie night! In preparation for the 2017 Great American Eclipse on August 21st, the library will be showing the movie Apollo 13 on Thursday, August 17th beginning at 5:30pm. All ages are welcome to attend this special event. Popcorn will be provided, feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages in a sealed container. The Ida Grove Library has joined more than 1,000 libraries across the country to participate in the celestial event of the century, the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse. During this national event, the shadow of the moon will sweep across the United States in a narrow band from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean in a spectacle that hasn't occurred in decades. Annual Community Barbecue
The Ida Grove Fire Department will be hosting their Annual Community Barbecue Fundraiser on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. A meal including burgers, beans, chips and drink will be available for a free will donation, as well as free truck rides for the children and a jaws of life demonstration at 5:30 and 6:30. Come out and support your local Fire Department!

Pumpkin Parade & Trick or Treating
Bring your families and meet at Godbersen park at 5:30 PM for a small costume contest and parade. After the parade a treat bag filled with goodies from Ida Grove businesses and glow necklaces will be available to make our kids more visible while out after dark. Trick or treating will begin following the parade and last until 8:00 PM. If you will be handing out candy from your home please remember to turn on an outdoor light

Join noted Northwest Iowa photographer Don Poggensee for a special guided exhibit of his work on Thursday, November 15th at 6:30 pm. POWs in Iowa
The Ida Grove Library will host Iowa author, Linda McCann, for a special program about POWs in Iowa on Wednesday, October 23th at 2 pm. From 1943-1946, Iowa housed approximately 25,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war.
