The King Theatre Renovation Board, along with architect Daric O'Neal, will present to the community on Tuesday, February 7th from 6 - 8 pm on the progress of the King Theatre Project. Special City Council Meeting
Our Ida Grove City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday, March 2nd, at 5:00 pm to discuss the anticipated vacancy of the seat representing Ward I. Jeff Buehler, who currently holds the Ward I spot, is moving outside the city limits. The appointment will run through the end of the 2017 calendar year with this seat up for general election this November.

Local Author Kim Claussen set to visit the library
Local author Kim Claussen is set to visit the library on April 8, 2017 from 10am to 12pm. Join us for a special program on Kim's first book "Till Tomorrow". There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer session and book signing. Books will be available for sale during the program for $16.05 (including tax). Light refreshments will be served, so make sure to mark your calendars and join us on April 8th!

The Ida Grove Library has joined more than 1,000 libraries across the country to participate in the celestial event of the century, the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse. 4th Annual Doggie Dip Ida Grove Outdoor Pool Dogs must be current on ALL vaccinations and registered for this event. Registration forms are available at the outdoor pool & the IGRC and will also be available the day of the event. Annual Community Barbecue
The Ida Grove Fire Department will be hosting their Annual Community Barbecue Fundraiser on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. A meal including burgers, beans, chips and drink will be available for a free will donation, as well as free truck rides for the children and a jaws of life demonstration at 5:30 and 6:30. 6th Annual Fun Run/Walk Prediction "Race" Thanksgiving Morning 8:30 AM (registration begins at 7:45 AM) The fun/walk will be held on the Pleasant Valley Trail (in town only), starting and ending at the Rec Center. The winner of the fastest time and the winner of the closest prediction will each receive a dozen decorated Thanksgiving cookies. $5 of each registration will be donated to the Ida County Food Pantry and $5 will go to the Rec Center.

Join Fonsiba to learn about African drumming and culture. In 2003, Fonsiba spent six weeks living with the Dembele family, whose traditional drummers go back thirty generations. She apprenticed with the family elder, Dramane Dembele, and performed with his drum troupe at several African weddings.
