Ida Grove RAGBRAI community informational meeting will be held Sunday, March 13, 7:00 p.m. King Theatre, downtown Ida Grove.

The executive committee will be on hand to provide preliminary plans, answer questions and gather feedback about RAGBRAI’s overnight stop on July 24th.

All products are manufactured in Ida Grove and delivered to final assembly and distribution facilities throughout the United States. Midwest Industries, Inc. owns a retail facility in Okoboji and operates final assembly facilities in New York Mills, Minnesota and Vonore, Tennessee.

The Hangar and Chalet are facilities that host the employee recognition events, or annual meetings with distributers and U.S. dealers. More recently, the annual meetings have rotated to other venues of the United States.

       

Midwest Industries, Inc. has experienced great growth in recent years, challenging them to “think outside the box” to meet demands of the industry and to sustain the companies growth. The company has had to adopt new technologies and embrace more diversity in the organization. Office Closed Monday, 2/21/2022

In honor of Presidents’ Day, City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 21, 2022.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

 

Spark Joy! Program

The Ida Grove Library is excited to announce a special Spark Joy! virtual program with Shannon Huneycutt. Shannon is the founder of Spark Joy® Charlotte and a certified Gold level KonMari® Consultant trained by tidying expert Marie Kondo. Marie is the author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and the creator of the KonMari Method®, which is a style of tidying focusing on decluttering and organizing your space by keeping only those items you love.

The Spark Joy! program will be available to registered participants from 5pm on March 10th through 5pm on March 12th. In addition, we will be hosting a special viewing of the program at 7pm on March 10th (at the library) to kick off our tidying journey! You are invited to sign up for this fantastic opportunity to learn how to Spark Joy! in your home, life, and work.

RAGBRAI IS COMING! RAGBRAI IS COMING!

Excitement is buzzing in the community with the announcement of Ida Grove being the overnight host town for day 2 of RAGBRAI, which is happening Sunday, July 24, 2022. Stay tuned for announcements regarding a town hall meeting with the community. This is where we will address questions, concerns, and ACCEPT NUMEROUS VOLUNTEERS to help make this day a huge success for Ida Grove!

Railroad Blockages

In an effort to raise awareness and address some concerns regarding blocked crossings due to trains, City Officials met with members of Landus last week. Attached is some information and a link where blockages may be reported to the Federal Railroad Administration. We encourage citizens to report any blockages occurring in excess of 10 minutes via the link.
