Ida Grove has outstanding opportunities for the youth in the community. In the BCIG school district, students receive a top notch education with small class sizes, and on graduation, every child who submits an application will receive a scholarship for continued education from the BCIG Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation.
Recreational activities are also easy to find in Ida Grove. Fun places for a little exercise and family togetherness include: the Pleasant Valley Trail, a 4+ mile concrete trail which circles the town and expands through the natural beauty of Moorehead Park; Ida Grove Rec Center, a place for fun and exercise, indoor lap swimming pool, weight room, basketball, walking track, racquetball, aerobics and more. The Rec Center also has a community room to rent for special occasions and use for meetings; several area parks offer exploring, camping, fishing and more! The Skate Palace, the most unique roller skating rink around, is also available to rent for parties & dances; youth soccer & baseball/softball leagues; and much more!
Ida Grove values strength of family. We have seven local churches which welcome new members. The Chamber of Commerce, Ida County Conservation Board and other organizations regularly schedule activities for the entire family!
Local organizations keep the community strong. Ida Grove has more than 40 organizations and clubs which promote community togetherness and support each other to keep Ida Grove moving forward for future generations.
Health care and hospital resources are flourishing in Ida Grove. Horn Memorial Hospital recently had a renovation which included the addition of a new rehabilitation center. Ida Grove also has several doctors, dentists, chiropractors and massage specialists, and optometrists. Morningside Care & Rehabilitation Center and Home Health Care are available for those in need of additional assistance.

We are one-half hour from Storm Lake and Denison Iowa; one hour from Sioux City, Iowa; two hours from Omaha, Nebraska; and two and one-half hours from Des Moines, Iowa.
